Today, we asked some questions of Audrey Del Prete.

What’s your name?

Audrey Del Prete.

Where can people find your portfolio?

https://www.instagram.com/audreydemodel/

How many years have you been modeling?

Ten years.

What is your favorite thing about modeling and why?

I love portraying different characters in front of the camera and being an inspiration for the photographer.

What is your least favorite thing about modeling and why?

Least favorite thing is the inconsistent work. I want to do it everyday!

Modeling Gigs

Tell us about your first professional gig: Who was it for?  What was it like? Where was it? When was it? How did it go?

My first professional gig was for a hair salon when I was a senior in high school. They cut, colored, and styled my hair and then photographed the look. I love getting my hair done so it was fun, but it took me a while to relax into the look they wanted for the photos. Looking back, I would have had more fun with it and smiled more!

Tell us about your best gig: Who was it for?  What was it like? Where was it? When was it? How did it go?  What made it the best for you?

The best gig for me so far was for Legal Zoom in San Francisco almost one year ago. It was so exciting. It was a big set with a full crew and stylists. I absolutely loved it. I think it went really well especially considering they used me as a lead rather than a background extra and they fully bought out my photos. It made me realize that I need to put more time and energy into pursuing modeling as a career because I want to do this all the time!

Tell us about your worst gig: Who was it for?  What was it like? Where was it? When was it? How did it go?  What made it the worst for you?

I can’t say that I have a worst gig. Each and every gig has been a learning experience for me. I will say that there was one photographer who made me a little uncomfortable. It was just a TFP (trade for photos) shoot, not paid or professional, so I really wish I had said something. But now I know where my boundaries are and I will not work with that photographer again.

If you could model for any brand, which brand would it be and why?

CoverGirl! I want to model for CoverGirl so badly because I just feel like I am the perfect fit for their brand. I want to portray that easy, breezy beautifulness that they look for. I use their products and I wear them really well. It would be such an honor to be used in their campaigns.

Modeling Advice

What advice would you give someone who is just getting started in the industry?

Get in front of the camera as much as you can. Ask your friends and family to take photos of you and have fun with it! Do more than just pose and smile. Make up characters or take characters you already know and portray them. Then when you feel ready, branch out and collaborate with photographers who are also looking to build their portfolio. You’ll both get experience and photos to use. It’s a win-win trade-off.

What is the one thing you wish people knew about modeling?

That it is a lot harder than it looks and it is about so much more than just good looks and glamour. Models are needed at all shapes and sizes, ages and colors.

Here’s your chance to speak to photographers, brands, casting directors, agents, etc.  What makes you so awesome that they should reach out to work with you today?

My outgoing bubbly personality is fun to work with and I take direction exceptionally well. My passion for modeling is obvious and my background in acting gives me a leg up in this industry. Plus, people tell me I have an unbeatable smile 🙂 Looking forward to hearing from you!
