Model Spotlight – Margo McReynolds

Veriscouts community, meet Margo McReynolds!

With a strong background in dance and theater, Margo McReynolds began modeling after reaching out to a photographer specializing in Victorian-era fashion for her high school senior portrait; after winning a photo contest, the opportunities began flooding in. She likes to model in a variety of fashion themes as a means of expressing herself and bringing together her various interests. Besides Victorian and vintage-era shoots, she does cosplay, designing and building her own props, and pursues similar fantasy-like themes, as well as boudoir and lingerie.

She has a large variety of hobbies as well, including dancing, watching classic Disney movies like Bambi and Winnie the Pooh, playing video games like Genshin Impact and Horizon Zero Dawn, learning ancient Latin, and biking and running surrounded by nature.

Here she talks about her transition from theater to modeling:

“When I did theater, it was my gateway to finding the courage to pursue modeling. I did theater all throughout my teenage years and some of my early adulthood. When I would get on stage in front of an audience, it was like a light switch — I suddenly became a different person that nobody recognized. The same light switch would flick on when you put a camera in front of me when I was dressed up as a character or in my lingerie or something, and it was like I was performing with a purpose. I realized that it was an easier way for me to be who I wanted to be on the inside. It has also helped me come to terms with my insecurities, which are valid because we’re all human, but also invalid because of others’ perceptions that have been forced on me. That light switch was like the inner me trying to come out of my little crackly shy shell.”
