Two.

What is your favorite thing about photography and why?

I love communicating and collaborating with people I would never have met otherwise. Everyone has such an interesting story to share and such a unique look to capture!

What is your least favorite thing about photography and why?

Nothing! I think that everyone who has a passion understand that that passion is going to come with hardships and roadblocks, but if you’re truly dedicated to that thing nothing should stop you from pushing forward.

Photography Gigs

Tell us about your first professional gig: Who was it for?  What was it like? Where was it? When was it? How did it go?

My very first professional gig was about two years ago for a family friend! I shot photos of this young woman, her boyfriend and seven of her closest friends out on a beautiful trailhead in Northern California. It was an amazing experience overall and is still one of my favorite shoots to this day!

I recently got to work with a gorgeous young woman who does aerial and silk work! We met at a trailhead in NorCal and she hung her silks you on a tree we found there. It was a magical experience watching her practice her skills and being able to capture them for her!

Tell us about your worst gig: Who was it for?  What was it like? Where was it? When was it? How did it go?  What made it the worst for you?

My worst gig was roughly two weeks ago actually haha. I met with a man who was trying to get into professional modeling in the Bay Area, and it was just a complete mess. He was very awkward whenever I tried to speak to him and extremely rude when I asked him to adjust his pose in any way at all. I told him I would send the photos in about a week, which is a pretty fast turn around with my crazy schedule, and he messages me 3 and 6 days later frustrated he hasn’t gotten the photos yet. He actually threatened to report me to the police too, but luckily I resolved the situation!

If you could shoot for any brand, which brand would it be and why?

National Geographic! I shoot every medium of photography, not just portraits, and I would love to be featured in Nat Geo one day. Growing up I had no clue who I was or wanted to be, but I was always captured by their images and had this urge to explore and try to find the things their photographers found. Being featured in their magazine would be a dream!

Photography Advice

What advice would you give someone who is just getting started in the industry?

Don’t undersell yourself. Be confident in your capabilities, but don’t be afraid to ask for help or advice either!

What is the one thing you wish people knew about being a photographer?

The amount of thought and planning and editing that goes into the composition of each photo; the behind the scenes editing that one on else sees!

Here’s your chance to speak to models, brands, publications, galleries, etc.  What makes you so awesome that they should reach out to work with you today?

I’m a very positive and dedicated photographer, and I give absolutely everything I have to each shoot that I schedule. I have experience working with models and photographers from more then 15 countries, of all genders, religions and so on. I specialize in outdoor portraiture, but I’m always up for a challenge and absolutely love working with others to produce the vision they have in mind!!
